  • DBT Skills Training for Teens at the CCCG Main Office. Learn skills to manage difficult emotions, impulsive behaviors, and stressful relationships.   • A Collaborative Treatment Approach to Eating Disorders: The Latest in Medical, Nutritional and Therapeutic Perspectives at the CCCG Main Office. Join us for a workshop on eating disorders. Learn about the latest standards of care, common myths and facts, medical complications, and the use of a team approach to coordinate care. We will explore working with families, culture and gender issues in treatment. Friday, April 14th, 9:00 am–12:15 pm (registration and refreshments begin at 8:30). Cost: $40. Ongoing Groups and Workshops

  • Integrating Spirituality & Psychotherapy: A Series of 6 Workshops at CCCG’s Main Office. This series will bring together concepts that integrate spiritual issues into a therapeutic context. Participants will come away with perspectives that will deepen their understanding, greater insight into their clients spiritual and psychological lives, and specific interventions to use when appropriate to clients who struggle with faith and finding meaning.   • Deep Roots at the CCCG Main Office. This is a psychotherapy and pastoral care group for men who have experienced police brutality, violence, and/or discrimination in the community. Monday mornings 8:00 am–9:00 am. Click here for more info.

  • MAPS: A DBT-Informed Art Therapy Group at CCCG’s Main Office. Module: Emotional Regulation—there is no artistic experience or ability required in order to join us. All materials will be provided. Group members will explore the ideas of DBT and learn skills through art experience involving paint, collage, and a variety of other mediums. All group members will be expected to have an individual therapist, and will be required to complete an intake with facilitator Julius Jessup-Peterson prior to joining the group.   • A Place of Refuge at CCCG’s Main Office. This a psychotherapy/support group for clients with symptoms of anxiety and trauma in response to racism and violence towards them or around them. Clients will learn grounding techniques, verbal deescalation techniques, and skills for asserting oneself in response to discrimination and intimidation from others.   • Grief Support Groups

    • Weekly Grief Support Group at Oak Grove UMC—a group for individuals who have experienced loss and are looking for a community of support. Tuesdays 6:30- 7:30 pm. Cost = FREE!.

    • Monthly Grief Support Group in Decatur with Lanta Cooper—this group meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm at CCCG, sponsored by AS Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. It is open to the community and free of charge to participants.
