Atlanta Medical Center
Atlanta Medical Center is downtown Atlanta 762-bed, for-profit general medical center owned by Tenent Health Care. There are two locations: the Main campus is located in downtown Atlanta and the South campus is located in East Point, GA. Services for a diverse inner city population include general medical/surgical care, Level 1 tertiary emergency care, 50 adult intensive care beds, neonatal ICU, oncology, labor and delivery, bariatric treatment, two behavioral health units (one general and the other geriatric), and a forensic unit for state and federal prisoners. Formerly Georgia Baptist Medical Center, the hospital has a rich history in CPE with one of the first CPE programs in Georgia.

Grady Health System
Grady Health System is one of Georgia’s most important medical resources. With 953 beds it is the largest hospital in the state and one of the best-known hospitals for training students for trauma response in the nation. Situated in downtown Atlanta, Grady offers a broad range of specialized services and departments such as: prenatal care, burn center, rape crisis center, sickle cell center, and an emergency care center that offers Level 1 trauma care. Grady was founded in the 1890’s and it has become a harbor of care for the poor and marginalized for much of the state of Georgia. Many of the patients who come to Grady are struggling financially, and have difficulties getting their healthcare needs met due to being uninsured or underinsured.

Gwinnett Hospital System
Gwinnett Hospital System is a not-for-profit health care system serving Gwinnett County Georgia and the surrounding area. Facilities served by chaplains are: Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, a 250+ bed Level II trauma center; Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, a 81-bed hospital opened in 2006; Glancy Rehabilitation Center, a 30 bed physical rehabilitation center; and Summit Ridge Center for Behavioral Health with 70 inpatient beds inpatient beds for adults and adolescents and outpatient services for adults and adolescents; and Gwinnett Extended Care Center, an 89 bed sub-acute and long term care facility.

Northside Hospital opened in 1970 and was the first hospital to build north of central Atlanta. When new construction is completed, the main Atlanta campus will have 537 beds, with campuses in Alpharetta, Cumming, and Canton. Renowned for its expertise in women’s services, Northside ranks first in the nation among community hospitals in the number of babies delivered. Northside Hospital’s specialists perform more surgeries than any other hospital in Georgia and diagnose and treat more cases of breast and gynecological cancer than any other hospital in Georgia. PruittHealth Healthcare Centers
Students will be assigned at different PruittHealth owned healthcare centers, nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation services. They will learn about working as a member of the treatment team in a healthcare center setting. Students will have opportunity to lead worship services, facilitate activity and support groups and meet with healthcare center patients one on one. There are a number of sites available around the Metro Atlanta area and beyond.
